You should dress appropriately, as if you are attending a job interview- covered and modest. Do not wear baseball caps, tank tops, shorts or flip- flops.

Most judges begin the hearing by asking questions to you about your daily activities and how they have been affected by your conditions and impairments.
You will be asked about what your typical day is like. Use examples of how your activities have changed since you became disabled.
Be prepared to provide an explanation on why you believe you cannot work. Look back on how difficult your last job was with your limitations, use examples to tell the judge a story.
You may be asked about your medications and any side effects.
You may be asked about the prognosis or the diagnoses your doctor has provided.
The judge may ask about your past work and what your job duties were and how long you held past jobs.
Following your testimony, the Judge will ask the vocational expert about your past work and ability to perform work with the stated limitations. This is Steps Four and Five of the evaluation process.
